Privacy, terms, refunds and license
Draft, not yet reviewed. These pages must be checked (ideally by a solicitor) and match the merchant of record's own terms before APPA goes on sale.
Privacy
APPA runs on your Mac. Your audio, MIDI, sessions, bounces and settings stay there; APPA doesn't upload them anywhere.
- License check. APPA contacts the license server to check your trial, subscription or license key. It sends the key and an identifier for your Mac, nothing about your sessions.
- Updates. APPA checks an update feed for new versions. That request includes the app's version and your macOS version.
- Support. If you email us for help and attach APPA's logs (~/Library/Logs/APPA), we use them only to see what went wrong. Logs can include track, session and file names.
- Buying. Payments are handled by our online reseller Paddle.com, the merchant of record, under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email, country and what you bought, never your card details.
- Launch list. If you leave your email, we use it only to tell you about APPA, and you can unsubscribe from any email.
We keep customer records (email, license, Macs) for as long as you have a license and then as long as tax law needs. To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email support@appa-audio.com. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Cookies and storage
This website uses no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics, so there's nothing to accept or decline. It stores only what you ask it to, in your own browser:
- Your Pro Tools / Logic Pro choice in the documentation, so it opens on your DAW next time.
- Your sign-in on the account page, so you stay signed in until you sign out.
- Paddle's checkout, which loads only when you press a buy button, uses the cookies it needs to take the payment (see Paddle's privacy policy).
Terms of sale
APPA is sold through our online reseller Paddle.com (the merchant of record), which handles payment, VAT and invoices. Prices are in pounds sterling; VAT is added at checkout where it applies.
- Free trial: seven days with everything working.
- Monthly: £9 a month, renewing each month until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next payment; APPA works until the end of the month you've paid for.
- Perpetual license: £300 once. It never expires, and updates are included.
- Launch offer: for the first month APPA is on sale, the monthly plan is £4 a month for the first 12 months (then £9), and the perpetual license is £150. The offer depends on when you sign up, not on your first month.
Refunds
Please use the free week to make sure APPA works with your Mac, your version of Pro Tools or Logic Pro and your sessions. If something's wrong after you buy, email support@appa-audio.com within 14 days of the payment and we'll refund it in full.
License (EULA)
You may install APPA on the Macs you personally use. You may not resell, share or redistribute your license key, or reverse engineer the license check.
APPA changes Pro Tools sessions and Logic Pro projects on your instructions. Keep backups of your sessions; we can't be responsible for lost work or missed deadlines. APPA is provided as is, to the extent the law allows; nothing here limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
Pro Tools is a trademark or registered trademark of Avid Technology, Inc. Logic Pro is a trademark of Apple Inc. APPA is an independent product, not made, sponsored or endorsed by Avid or Apple.
